Vintage Hill Farm – Warmblood Sporthorses

 Mares and Foals

Donna Special

Special's dam, Donna Weltklassic, was imported while carrying Special inutero. Coming from a long line of legendary stallions and proven top performers we are excited to add a mare of this quality into our breeding program. Special has an exceptional trot that has been called " a rare find" from international judges.

Stedinger ,the sire of Special, is becoming a first choice pick with breeders when looking for a stallion to produce exceptional dressage offspring.

Stedinger was the radiant and unequivocal approval winner of the 2002 Oldenburg Stallion Days. He is a modern, elegant stallion, large framed and highly elastic in every respect. Stedinger is one of the best of his age class as regards his jumping performance. His sire Sandro Hit is regarded as the upholder of the Sacramento Song xx – Butes bloodline that established itself in Holstein and was disseminated in the warmblood breeds of Oldenburg and Hanover via Sandro. Despite being under heavy breeding stress, Stedinger performed outstandingly at the 70 day test in Neustadt/Dosse with a total index of 131 points.

His first foals, who are all dark-coated, have caused sensations and brought top prices: “S info nie? was the champion filly at the German Foal Championchip in Lienen, and the most expensive filly in Verden. With € 26,000 “Starman? was one of the most expensive youngsters in Vechta in 2004.

Through the dam of Special we introduce Weltmeyer and Donnerhall blood. As the American Hanoverian Society put it, "Weltmeyer continues to almost single-handedly reshape the Hanoverian breed." Weltmeyer was in 1986 winner of the stallion licensing in Verden and the 1987 winner of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf. Later that same year Weltmeyer also won the three-year-old stallions classification at the Federal Championships of German Riding Horses in Warendorf. In 1988 he was honored in Verden as best stallion of his age-group and awarded with the "Freiherr von Stenglin-Prize". One year later he became DLG Champion 1989 in Frankfurt. And last but not least he became "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year" in 1998. As of today, Weltmeyer has produced 70 licensed sons, all of them are excellent stallions. At the 2002 Ratje Niebuhr-Show, Weltmeyer was the leding sire. Out of 51 mares which placed first through third in 17 classes, Weltmeyer sired eight, including champion SPS Wiami and and reserve champion Wicke. Overall, his blood was present in one third of all the mares, by from 25% to 50% percent. When it comes to capacity for dressage and the temperament necessary for a top competitor, this stallion simply cannot be beaten. In 2005, Weltmeyer received a Breeding Value Index of 152 points, with an assurance of 99% heritability.

Donnerhall is another foundation sire of dressage that we find through Special's dam. Donnerhall is one of the most successful dressage horses in the world and looks back on an exemplary career. He managed like no other sire of his generation to combine success in breeding and in sport alike. In Germany alone he has produced over 50 approved stallion sons and more than 35 State Premium Mares. At the 1998 World Championships in Rome, Karin Rehbein and the meanwhile 17-year old stallion were once more part of the German gold medal team and gained an excellent fourth place in the individual rating. His sporting successes, substantiated by his life winnings of around DM 640,000. Donnerhall's breeding tally includes 77 approved sons, while of the more than 450 registered mares, 84 were awarded the state premium.
